Allen Saunders was a prolific writer of American detective and soap opera comic strips. His credits included Big Chief Wahoo, Dan Dunn, Mary Worth, Rex Morgan, M.D., Kerry Drake, Steve Roper, Mike Nomad, and Friday Foster. Saunders autobiography, Playwright for Paper Actors, was published in Nemo the Classic Comics Library in the 1980’s. In this 1945 Coronet article he gives a rare glimpse of the authors behind the funnies.
