Masters of the Feuilleton by Ladbroke Black from T.P.'s Weekly 20 Jun 1913. This article mostly deals with the Harmsworth newspaper and magazine serial authors. Convict 99 was written by the team of Marie Connor Leighton and her husband, boy's author Robert Leighton. In 1898 it appeared in book form illustrated by Stanley Wood. Ladbroke Black was author of The Poison War published in 1933 by Stanley Paul Co. He was also one of the many Sexton Blake authors for the Harmsworth story papers.
