Fred Neher's Goofey Movies shows a strong George Herriman/Arch Dale influence. Not surprisingly since he was an assistant on Arch Dale's American Doo Dads daily and Sunday strip in the twenties. Life's Like That, a single-panel cartoon, was probably his most successful strip. It was published in 500 newspapers at its peak. A different type of strip drawn by Neher was Otto Watt which can be sampled HERE.
Neher was an Indiana born cartoonist and a graduate of the Landon Cartooning course. He died in Boulder, Colorado 26 September 2001 at 98.
