Crooked Politician Long Green by Culver. Below William Randolph Hearst's 'New Journalism' in the Examiner, as pictured by San Francisco Call cartoonist Culver in 1896. Culver often resorted to a simple means of drawing various miscreants who fell afoul of the editors -- he drew them as polecats. The 'Life' cartoon may be by a different cartoonist since its unsigned.
