Lilliput,
Hungarian exile Stefan Lorant's second British magazine, (first was Weekly
Illustrated in 1934) was launched in July 1937, followed closely by Picture
Post in 1938. It was a pocket-sized digest containing humorous fiction,
photography, illustrations and cartoons. Among the many contributors were Lilliput
literary correspondent Maurice Richardson (author of The Exploits of
Engelbrecht), Gerard Hoffnung, Walter Trier, Nancy Mitford, Stephen Potter, Mervyn Peake,
VS Pritchett, Ronald Searle, Robert Graves, Ken Russell, Aleister Crowley, Henry Moore,
Ronald Searle, Patrick Campbell, Gerard Hoffnung, and Sir Max Beerbohm.
