Gas Buggies by Frank Beck. Frank Beck's masterful continuity of adventure, romance and domestic comedy ran from Dec 4, 1920 (top) in the Minnesota Daily Star, alongside J. E. Murphy's Toots and Casper, Pat Sullivan's Felix the Cat, and George Herriman's Krazy Kat. The strip was first copyright by Metropolitan Newspaper Service but by 1929 was copyrighted to the author, Frank Beck. One of Frank Beck's assistants was the eccentric cartoonist Boody Rogers, whose comic book works are now being reprinted by Craig Yoe and Fantagraphics.
