I found your site researching 'Cory's Kids'. I'm wondering if you know anything else about this wonderful lost series? Specifically how long it ran, and if it was ever in any other papers than the Washington Herald? I cannot find any other references to it online. Anything would be helpful.
Thanks you again for your wonderful blog; it's a shame there are not more individuals involved in keeping the wonderful creations of the past alive.
Thanks Tim. I have been through the comic sections of hundreds of American and Canadian newspapers and this was all I found. I have done many posts on Cory's other creations. Click on his name link above to see all the rest.
After posting I found your other postings on Cory; very interesting; his single pane illustrations are quite good as well. Not to be redundant, but did 'cory's kids' run in any other newspapers than the washington herald? I'd be amazed if the McClure Syndicate would distribute it to only one paper.
I'm sure it did appear in other newspapers -- unfortunately I don't know of any other papers that carried Cory's Kids. The strip is not that well-known so it may not have had a long life or a large circulation.
I actually have a Cory's Kids comic dated August 22, 1915 from The News Comic Section from Dallas, Texas. It features an African-American cook working for a family. I'm not sure how common those were in Cory's work.
Mr. Adcock,
